SRC Supporting MattHighamDrift

We’re super excited to renew our association with Matt Higham, driving in the Demon Energy D1NZ Drifting Championship.

Matt was a member of the ScorpionRacecars Formula First squad in 2011/12, winning the NZ Formula First Championship with the team in 2012.

We’re looking forward to working with Matt again and the new challenge that the discipline of Drifting presents.

Be sure to stop by the Matt Higham Drift pit and say hello to the boys.

Double Duty

A big weekend for the team, racing in both the North and South Islands on Saturday. Beginning with the NZ Endurance Championship 3 Hour race at Ruapuna with the Trass Family Motorsport Ferrari, quickly followed by the final night of the season at Western Springs Speedway with Breyton Davison Racing.
Both totally different disciplines requiring unique skills but we’re super excited about the challenge they bring.

SRC 02 Hits the Track

The first round of the Formula First NZ Championship at Manfeild saw the debut of our latest chassis, the Scorpion 02. With the season starting earlier than usual our goal was to have the car ready for the first round and a huge effort from the team saw the car take to the track for the first time on the Saturday test day.

Although the weekend didn’t provide the results we may have hoped for, the car ran well straight ‘out of the box’ and we have already achieved a solid platform from which to develop the chassis further.

All in all an encouraging weekend, our thanks to Elliot for his continued feedback and a BIG thank you to all the fans who stopped by our pit area to have a look at the car, we loved the opportunity to meet you all.

Thanks for following us and to our sponsors Motorsport Plus, Beta Utensili S.p.A. Beta Tools by ScorpionRacecars
